Felix Rhymes, President

After graduating from Louisiana Tech University, Felix Rhymes began his career as an Art Director at Baeurline Advertising in New Orleans. Realizing the lack of opportunity available, he left New Orleans. He was hired by Leslie & Assoc (Shreveport, Louisiana) to handle local clients and political campaigns. In three years, they won 43 of the 55 races for their candidates. Despite this success, politics was not his calling. He was recruited by Bozell & Jacobs and was assigned to the Houston office. He worked on large B to B and B to C local and regional clients and quickly gained recognition for his marketing and creative skills. His entrepreneurial leanings made him leave his career at large agencies. In 1981, he started his own creative boutique. Rhymes’ first clients were advertising agencies that outsourced creative. During the company’s first year in business, Rhymes placed third in total number of AAF awards, competing with the largest agencies in Houston. The shop won two Clios for broadcast work and several national ADDYs for print work. The work appeared in the New York One Show, Communication Arts and Print magazine. Companies who realized the benefits of working with a smaller, results-oriented shop became direct clients. As the client base grew, Rhymes added full services. Today, Rhymes Marketing and Advertising consistently ranks among the top local agencies in an audited billings survey conducted by the Houston Business Journal.  The company produces superior marketing communication strategies and creative executions. Regardless of the medium, Rhymes’ emphasis has always been, and will continue to be, sound marketing principals and results.
