Now winter nights enlarge
This number of their hours;
And clouds their storms discharge

The glimmering fires of Virtue to enlarge,
And purge from Vice's dross my tender charge.

Their stores abound, if thou thy hand enlarge;
Confus'd they are, when thou thy beams dost hide;
In dust resolv'd, if thou their breath discharge.

NOW winter nights enlarge
The number of their hours,
And clouds their storms discharge

And sith of wemens labours thou hast charge,
And generation goodly dost enlarge,

Beware full sails drown not thy tott'ring barge,
Lest joy, by nature apt sprites to enlarge,

You every year the debt enlarge,
I grow less equal to the charge:
